Waarom is poëzie belangrijk?

Scott Griffin is een Canadese zakenman en filantroop en vooral bekend voor het oprichten van de Griffin Poetry Prize, een van ’s werelds meest genereuze poëzie awards, en Poetry In Voice, een voordrachtwedstrijd voor Canadese middelbare scholen . Hij is ook de rector van Bishop’s Universiteit . Daarnaast zit Griffin in verschillende besturen van NGO’s boards en is hij, als vrijwilliger, directeur van de Canadese Executive Services Overseas ( CESO ).
Bij de TedX talks verteld hij waarom poëzie zo belangrijk is. In dit filmpje geeft hij een voorbeeld van een gedicht over ‘the great depression’ van E.E. Cummings.
